Launching June 8 on World Ocean Day, Blue Ring, Inc. is a benefit corporation seeking to raise funds for ocean conservation by selling annual memberships to those who wish to represent their ongoing commitment to Merying™ the sea. The initial year’s goal is to raise $5 million dollars for a pair of Deep Ocean Exploration and Research (DOER) submersibles for use by oceanographer and explorer Dr. Sylvia Earle. Alex Rose, Executive Director, explains her inspiration for launching Blue Ring, Inc:
Singer, songwriter, and Salt Life team member Tim Curran has released his new album Alexander Road. The album, his fourth, was recorded and produced at Brotheryn Studios in Ojai, California by Jesse Seibenberg. Noteable collaborations include Joey Waronker (Atoms For Peace), Mikael Jorgensen (Wilco), and Gabe Noel who has appeared with artists including Kenny Loggins and Foster The People.
This highly personal album was entirely written or co-written by Curran, who reflected "...the songs were inspired from my own personal life experiences and the others are about what I have seen some of my closest friends going through,” further adding: "Many of the songs on the record were written as is if I'm singing from their shoes."
Curran competed for several years in the World Tour Of Surfing, as well as helping pioneer the "Aerial Revolution" of the 1990s. In 2005, Curran famously created the Alley Oop- a full rotation, upside-down flip in two-foot surf at Rocky Point in Hawaii. Curran is also involved with The Young & Brave Foundation, which fundraises for and supports cancer patients.
Alexander Road is available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon and the online store.
